My inspiration for “Peach Photography” comes from the experience of the “peach and the pit”, a light-hearted social discussion that has us ponder the best and worst part of our day. It is a reminder that not every day is great, but every day has something great in it.

That is my goal as a photographer...to have my work reflect what it is that makes a day special; what it is that makes a moment special.

Michelle, Mike & Meadow

Photographing life’s most beautiful transitions is a privilege I never take for granted. That’s why when I received a call from Michelle and Mike—clients I had the pleasure of working with for their engagement session and wedding—I was thrilled to hear they wanted me to photograph their in-home newborn session. It was time to celebrate another chapter of their life, the arrival of their new baby girl, Meadow. There’s something truly special about witnessing a couple’s journey from their wedding day to parenthood, and I knew this in-home newborn session would be filled with joyful moments.

In-home newborn sessions offer a unique blend of comfort and flexibility. For parents, it means having everything they need within arm’s reach—from extra diapers and onesies to comfortable places to sit and relax. It also allows me to capture the personal touches that make a house a home, like the nursery the Vitiellos meticulously decorated for Meadow. The soft pastels and the wooden crib all spoke to the love and care that went into preparing for her arrival.

The in-home newborn session itself lasted about three hours, which might sound long, but it gave us the time we needed to work at a pace that was comfortable for everyone, especially Meadow. In-home new born sessions are designed to accommodate the unpredictability of newborns. Meadow had her moments of fussiness, requiring feeding and changing, but these pauses can be opportunities to capture other important details around the nursery or home.

I also loved that the Vitiellos’ dog, Tiggy, was part of the session. Tiggy is a key member of the family, and it was clear that she took her new role as “big sister” seriously. We got some heartwarming shots of Tiggy lying next to Michelle, Mike, and Meadow. Including their furbaby in the session added a layer of warmth and authenticity to the photos. She is after all, their other baby.

Another highlight of an in-home newborn session is the ability to move around and find different backdrops within the house. We started in the nursery, capturing moments of the parents admiring their new baby in her crib. Then, moved to the couple’s bedroom, where they shared sweet, candid moments while snuggling with Meadow on their bed. We even took some photos in a reading nook where natural light shined through the windows, creating a soft and flattering glow.

As the session came to a close, I felt a massive sense of gratitude. It’s an honor to be part of these significant milestones in people’s lives. Capturing the Vitiellos’ journey from engagement to wedding and now to parenthood was incredibly rewarding. As I packed up my gear and said my goodbyes, I knew this wouldn’t be the last time I photographed the Vitiello family. I look forward to seeing Meadow grow and capturing more of her life’s milestones in the future!
