May is one of the busiest wedding months in New Jersey. As we approach the start of what the industry sees as “the wedding season”, I’m looking back to one of my favorite Spring weddings of last year: Maddy & Sean’s Hamilton Farm wedding.
I have to say, Hamilton Farm Golf Club is one of my favorite wedding venues in NJ. Although it is a private golf club, a Hamilton Farm wedding is available to non-members. I’m sure most of you will agree that this gorgeous location tucked into the backroads of Peapack, NJ is quite special. Maddy & Sean first visited the property in 2019, before they were engaged, and immediately envisioned their future inclusive of a Hamilton Farm wedding.
“Not only is the club beautiful, but the food is also amazing as well, and the staff is incredibly accommodating. The fancy yet elegant vibe at the club was exactly what we were going for.”
-Maddy
As with any wedding, party, or major life event really, there’s always unexpected hurtles you can’t plan for. After a year of Covid had already passed, most couples expected or at least hoped that restrictions to celebrations would have lightened up. Luckily, they did! Not only could they have all their guests attend, but the mask mandates were lifted the night before. It was serendipitous as they got engaged the night everything first “shut down”.
Despite planning a wedding through covid, Maddy’s biggest worries were her weather report and choreographed first dance with dad. I can’t say much to the dance, which was spectacular by the way, but I can talk about the weather. Brides, don’t stress about things you can’t control, especially ones that are based on a percentage/probability. I cannot emphasize how many times the weather report changes from week, day, hour, minute.. etc. As you will see from the photographs below, Maddy & Sean did not get any rain on their Hamilton Farm wedding parade.
With their dream day coming together just how they wanted, I asked Maddy & Sean if they have advice for newly engaged couples.
“We strongly advise taking a honeymoon! After the stress and tension of the planning and the buildup leading to the wedding, it was so nice to kick back on the beach, just the two of us, and celebrate a future that we had to look forward to. Take it all in! The day will come and go in the blink of an eye so enjoy it, even if is not exactly what you had in mind. Lastly, it will be a super busy day but remember it is a day to celebrate you and your husband, so make sure you take time for the two of you. appreciate and enjoy each other. Even if it’s just five minutes after your first dance, take a moment alone together.”
Bride’s Peach: The peak of my day was walking down the aisle 🙂
Bride’s Pit: The pit was waking up in the middle of the night 3 times to projectile vomit the night before the wedding! I was sure that I had food poisoning and afraid we were going to have to cancel the wedding. If it happened any other night, I would have my husband there to take care of me. Since it was the night before the wedding, I was alone 🙁 fortunately, I think it was just my nerves and my stomach settled down later on in the morning.
PS – I totally admit, THE SAME thing happened to me the night before my wedding. I was just anxious/nerves.
