My inspiration for “Peach Photography” comes from the experience of the “peach and the pit”, a light-hearted social discussion that has us ponder the best and worst part of our day. It is a reminder that not every day is great, but every day has something great in it.

That is my goal as a photographer...to have my work reflect what it is that makes a day special; what it is that makes a moment special.

The Spring wedding season is approaching and with current world news, I think about how lucky I am to witness love, celebrations, and beautiful moments. This Architects Golf Club wedding is a special one to look back on.

When I asked Alyssa and JP about their Architect’s Golf Club wedding and if there is advice they could give to future couples, they had some very special notes:

“One piece of advice that fell into place for us had to do with traditions. One of the most special parts of the night was the traditional Ukrainian bread and salt ceremony, performed by the parents. We ended up feeling like our wedding was a wonderful blend of moments that felt uniquely ‘us’, yet honored the traditions of our families. Consider how to find the right balance for yours!”

The bread and salt ceremony comes from earliest traditions where parents would meet the newlyweds with symbolic gifts: bread, salt, honey and wine. Bread represents nature’s bounty, salt is a necessity of life, honey-the sweetness of life and wine — prosperity. The newly-formed families unite in a toast.

Uniquely theirs it was. When they started planning their Architects Golf Club wedding they had to plan around and through the pandemic, which they feel only made their relationship stronger. The morning of their wedding, they made the game time decision to switch their ceremony location due to rain. They even endured incredible wind in photos, but you’d never know by looking at them! Alyssa & JP made this day at Architects Golf Club beyond special. They even said the best part of the planning process was having their wedding dreams become a reality.

Peach: So many peaches! If we had to choose, it would probably be the ceremony. We exchanged personal vows, were officiated by our best friend, and had everyone laughing and crying with us. Which is funny because we had to switch it from outside to under the tent intended for cocktail hour, due to rain. It was perfect still.

The other thing we really loved was our bride & groom photo session, following our first look! It was romantic, relaxing, and fun. Kudos to Alicia and the rest of our crew for facilitating that. We even all jumped out of the golf cart for spontaneous final shots, as the dark clouds rolled in.

Pit: The bus company we used to shuttle about 50 guests from the hotels to the venue did not go well. With all our guests on-board, the bus hit multiple objects, including a dramatic conclusion of hitting the fire hydrant at the venue! Everyone was safe. Guests were rattled getting off the bus, but luckily it became a laughable moment.
