My inspiration for “Peach Photography” comes from the experience of the “peach and the pit”, a light-hearted social discussion that has us ponder the best and worst part of our day. It is a reminder that not every day is great, but every day has something great in it.

That is my goal as a photographer...to have my work reflect what it is that makes a day special; what it is that makes a moment special.

Natirar Mansion Winter Wedding

Sam & Jack first met with me at their Washington DC engagement session and from that moment I knew their Natirar Mansion Winter wedding would be a blast. The day started out at Zoku Salon where Sam and her girls got their hair done and did their own makeup, flawlessly. Instead of getting ready at the Natirar Mansion, Sam and the girls left the salon for her house in Summit. Her home made for a gorgeous getting ready backdrop for her all her details. Her Stella York dress hung beautifully in her parents’ bedroom where her two sisters and mom helped her get dressed.

Instead of heading right to the Natirar Mansion, Sam and Jack had a church ceremony where there still met in the courtyard for a first look. It was important to them to see each other before the ceremony began. A few family photos at the alter while guests exited, allowed for a grand exit from the church with a swift departure to the Natirar Mansion. There, we focused on the couple’s wedding photos together, followed by the wedding party and then the family. With the sun setting early in the winter, we used the gorgeous green room inside the Natirar Mansion for family photos. This allowed us to not worry about natural lighting and keep the family, Sam, and Jack warm for the rest of the day.

Wedding Vibes

Sam knew the charm and cozy vibes her Natirar Mansion Winter wedding would have. Growing up with two sisters in Summit, her family had the tradition of Mom decorating the house for Christmas in a day while Dad would take the girls hunting for a Christmas tree. Every year, this Daddy/daughter tradition brought Sam and her sisters to a tree farm right next to Natirar. The Natirar Mansion brought Sam’s favorite winter tradition with her family full circle to a day where she starts a new family. The décor from Jardinere depicted all the cozy winter vibes. With pine cones, evergreen accents, birch trimmings, and the fireplace roaring.. this Natirar Mansion winter wedding nailed the vibe.

Sam’s Peach: We had the best time dancing at the wedding, particularly to one of the first songs (Shout!). Everyone was getting low and it was the only song after the first dances that I wore my wedding dress– it was way too heavy to jump up and down in and I immediately went and changed into a short dress so I could move more easily!

Sam’s Pit: I forgot a bag in our Boston apartment that held all my toiletries, which would be bad enough, but it also had all of my makeup in it. I was doing my own makeup for the wedding so that was my breaking point. There were tears, but luckily my sister’s boyfriend was coming down from Boston and was able to pick it up and get it to me on time.
