My inspiration for “Peach Photography” comes from the experience of the “peach and the pit”, a light-hearted social discussion that has us ponder the best and worst part of our day. It is a reminder that not every day is great, but every day has something great in it.

That is my goal as a photographer...to have my work reflect what it is that makes a day special; what it is that makes a moment special.

The Belli Family

Welcoming a new baby into the world is one of life’s most meaningful milestones, and documenting those first weeks at home is always incredibly special. This recent in-home newborn session in New Jersey with the Belli family was particularly meaningful to photograph because this wasn’t our first time working together. Over the years, I’ve had the honor of documenting their engagement, wedding day, and now the arrival of their baby girl through Peach Photography.

Being invited back to photograph such an important new chapter is one of the greatest privileges of my job.

Their beautiful baby girl was just a few weeks old during our session—sleepy, tiny, and already so loved. We spent the morning photographing their family in the comfort of their New Jersey home, capturing the quiet, tender moments that make the newborn stage so special.

Why I Love In-Home Newborn Sessions

As a photographer, I truly believe in-home newborn photography sessions create some of the most meaningful and timeless images.

For new parents, those first few weeks can be both magical and exhausting. One of the biggest advantages of an in-home session is simply how comfortable and easy it is. There’s no need to pack a diaper bag, gather outfits, or worry about getting everyone out the door on time.

Everything you need is already there.

Parents can move through their natural rhythm—feeding the baby, rocking her to sleep, or simply cuddling on the couch—while I quietly document the moments as they unfold. This creates photographs that feel authentic, relaxed, and deeply personal, which is why so many families love lifestyle newborn photography at home.

Natural Light & Meaningful Spaces

During the Belli family’s session, beautiful natural light filled their home, creating the soft, airy look that I love in newborn photography. We photographed in the nursery they carefully prepared for their daughter as well as in the living spaces where they’re now spending so many of their first days together as a family of three.

These are the places where real life happens—the chair where late night feedings take place, the couch where parents snuggle their newborn, the nursery that was lovingly prepared months before her arrival.

That’s part of what makes in-home newborn photography in New Jersey so meaningful. Years from now, these photographs won’t just show what their baby looked like as a newborn—they’ll also remind them of the home where those very first memories were made.

The Beauty of the Early Weeks

At just a few weeks old, their baby girl spent much of the session peacefully sleeping in her parents’ arms, occasionally stretching or opening her eyes to take in the world around her.

Those tiny details are some of my favorite moments to capture—the delicate fingers wrapped around dad’s hand, the way she curls perfectly against mom’s shoulder, the quiet expressions that come and go in seconds.

Newborn photography doesn’t need elaborate props or posed setups to be beautiful. Often, the most meaningful images come from the simple connection between parents and their baby, captured in a place that already holds so much meaning.

Documenting Life’s Chapters

Working with the Belli family again was a wonderful reminder of why I love photographing weddings and families. Being able to document **life’s biggest milestones—from engagement photos, to wedding days, to welcoming a first baby—**is something I never take for granted.

These sessions tell a story that continues to grow over time.

Newborn Photography Questions

When should newborn photos be taken?
Newborn sessions are typically photographed within the first two to three weeks after a baby is born. During this time babies tend to be sleepier and curl naturally into those cozy newborn poses.

Are in-home newborn sessions better than studio sessions?
Many families love in-home newborn sessions because they are more comfortable and relaxed. Everything you need is already there, and the photos capture meaningful spaces within your home.

What should parents wear for an in-home newborn session?
Soft, neutral colors photograph beautifully in natural light. Comfortable clothing like flowing dresses, sweaters, or simple button-down shirts works especially well for lifestyle newborn photography.

What if the baby needs to eat or be changed during the session?
That’s completely expected! Newborn sessions are always baby-led. We take breaks as needed so the experience stays calm and enjoyable for everyone.
