Kelly & Matt
As a New Jersey wedding photographer, there are certain venues that instantly elevate a wedding day — and Hamilton Farm Golf Club is one of them. Kelly and Matt’s spring wedding at this iconic Gladstone, NJ venue was the perfect blend of timeless elegance, personal intention, and heartfelt celebration.
From romantic lavender florals to handwritten notes at every reception table, their Hamilton Farm Golf Club wedding reflected nearly a decade of shared history — and it was an honor to document every moment.
A Love Story That Began at St. Lawrence University
Kelly and Matt’s story began almost ten years ago at St. Lawrence University. They met at a preseason soccer gathering — an introduction that quickly turned into something deeper. What started on the soccer field grew stronger through shared classes, friendships, and eventually long distance when Matt studied abroad in London.
It was under the lights of Covent Garden that they first said, “I love you.” From that moment forward, their relationship continued to evolve — through internships, early career moves, and building a life together in New York City.
In August 2023, Matt proposed in Central Park — a full-circle moment that led them to begin planning their spring wedding in New Jersey.
Why They Chose Hamilton Farm Golf Club for Their Spring Wedding
When couples ask me about luxury New Jersey wedding venues, Hamilton Farm Golf Club is always at the top of the list.
Located in Gladstone, NJ, this private golf club offers:
- Sweeping countryside views
- Classic estate architecture
- Refined indoor reception spaces
- Stunning natural light for portraits
Kelly initially searched for venues in Connecticut, but nothing felt quite right. When they toured Hamilton Farm, everything clicked.
“The grounds and the staff made us feel immediately comfortable and taken care of. We’re instinctual people — and we just knew.”
For spring weddings especially, Hamilton Farm is breathtaking. The rolling greens come alive, the gardens soften the estate backdrop, and the golden evening light creates a dream setting for romantic portraits.
As a Hamilton Farm Golf Club wedding photographer, it’s truly one of my favorite venues to capture.
Spring Wedding Design Inspiration
Kelly and Matt’s design palette embraced the softness of the season:
- Lavender
- Blush
- Soft greens
- Crisp whites
The floral design by Laura Clare Floral Design complemented the estate’s elegance beautifully, adding romance without overpowering the classic architecture of Hamilton Farm.
Their reception space felt refined yet warm — proof that a golf club wedding in New Jersey can feel both grand and deeply personal.
Personal Details That Made Their Wedding Unique
What made this Hamilton Farm Golf Club wedding especially meaningful were the thoughtful details woven throughout the day:
- A trolley transporting the wedding party to the church
- A memorial table honoring loved ones
- Handwritten thank-you notes at every reception table
- A playful ice luge nodding to their college days
- Custom cocktail signs illustrated by the Best Man
These details didn’t just style the wedding — they told a story.
One of my favorite moments to photograph was Kelly walking into the church. As Matt described it:
“When the doors opened, a halo of light surrounded Kelly. It was overwhelming. A core memory I’ll never forget.”
Moments like these are why being a New Jersey wedding photographer is so meaningful — preserving fleeting seconds that become lifelong memories.
Wedding Planning Advice from the Bride
Like many couples planning a luxury New Jersey wedding, Kelly and Matt balanced busy careers, family life, and logistics.
“Wedding planning can come with stress, but stay grounded in what really matters. Choose what is meaningful to you — not what’s expected.”
And their biggest advice?
“On the big day, don’t leave each other’s side. Stay present. Experience it together.”
It’s advice I echo often as a photographer — the most beautiful images happen when couples are fully present with one another.
A Joyful Spring Celebration in Gladstone, NJ
As the evening unfolded inside Hamilton Farm Golf Club, the dance floor filled, the band energized the room, and the celebration carried late into the night. (Sore feet included.)
Kelly and Matt’s spring wedding in Gladstone, NJ was timeless, intentional, and full of joy — the kind of wedding that perfectly reflects why I love photographing at Hamilton Farm.

GROOM’S PEACH & PIT
PEACH: “When Kelly and Pete entered the church, the doors opened and a halo of light surrounded Kelly. Like an angel. It was an overwhelming sight and is a core mental image that I (Matt) will never forget. It was really special to see each other for the first time at the altar and riding back as newlyweds in the trolly with our immediate family and wedding party.”
PIT: “Once midnight struck, we started to feel our feet throbbing after a full day on them and night breaking it down on the dance floor. Safe to say, we were feeling it for a few days afterward…. But it was totally worth it.”
