Class and a Full Beer Glass
Houston Hall Wedding, NYC
Oh, New York! I love a thoughtfully planned out, to all the little details and elegance, wedding. Who is to say this needs to mean gold, glitz, and marble? Ali & Dan’s Houston Hall Wedding in NYC was at yes, a beer garden, but was YES, still every bit glamourous. Every detail from the flowers, shoes, bridesmaid dresses, handmade table runners and candles were perfectly coordinated and completely romantic.
This was actually my first New York City Wedding and Houston Hall was literally all I dreamed my first New York wedding would be. Ali & Dan were an amazing Bride and Groom. From the calmness in the room that morning when I arrived, to their dance moves and late-night pizza binging at the party. “Down to earth” is probably the best term I could use to describe my wedding clients and these two are no exception.
About the Day.
The morning started out at the Nomo Soho Hotel. Vision Event Company was already there upon my arrival coordinating the prep at every turn and detail. When talking with Ali, logistics was one of her main concerns. However, after the day she said,
“… until Vision finalized our awesome timeline and assured me they’d handle all of it (which they did, and then some!). I cannot recommend a day of planner enough for this reason – I could sit back and enjoy and be told where to go and when!”
I could not agree more. Especially with the hustle of New York! Having the coordinators there to handle the transportation, lend extra hands, direct foot traffic… just to name a few… was everything Ali and Dan needed to make sure their day went effortlessly. Multiple locations can require a lot of juggling! They traveled from NoMo Soho to The Basilica of St. Patrick’s Old Cathedral. Did I swoon and sign “Oh, New York” yet?

From the Bride & Groom:
Pit of the Day?
“The only pit was not being able to spend more time with all the friends and family who came to celebrate with us! Our only wish was that we had more time to dance and chat with everyone – but we saw them all on the dance floor, for sure!”
Peach of the Day?
“SO many peaches! (That’s how you know it was an amazing day, right?) I would say the peach would have to be our first look – it was so special! We missed each other amongst all the excitement all morning, so seeing each other on the balcony was such an incredible moment for us both. It truly took the anticipation stress off of us.”

Best Part of the planning process?
“I really enjoyed getting to know all of our vendors! Such kind people, and such experts in their craft!”
Any advice for future brides and grooms?
“Try to make the planning process fun by making an occasion out of it – IE, ‘want to go get margaritas and talk about (wedding thing)?’ Also, again – my biggest godsend was having a day of planner. Get one so that you don’t feel stressed, I promise it will put your minds at ease so you can enjoy!”
